The IPA60R650CEXKSA1: At 100 kHz, the average gate current is roughly 2 mA, well within the output capability of a standard driver like the IR2110. The maximum gate-source voltage is ±20 V, so a 10 V drive rail is safe and gives the lowest Rds(on).
Through-hole package and thermal handling
Housed in a TO-220-3 Full Pack (PG-TO220-FP), the device has an isolated metal tab — no insulating pad or washer needed between the tab and the heatsink. The junction-to-case thermal path is rated for 28 W maximum dissipation at the case, so a modest clip-on heatsink keeps the junction below 150°C in a 25 W application. The through-hole leads are easy to hand-solder or wave-solder into a standard 0.100-inch pitch layout. The operating junction temperature range is -40°C to 150°C, covering industrial and outdoor equipment without derating at the cold end.
