The Infineon IPA60R360CFD7XKSA1 is an N-channel CoolMOS™ CFD7 power MOSFET in a through-hole TO-220-3 Full Pack package. It's built for hard-switched topologies — PFC boost, flyback, LLC half-bridge — where 650 V drain-source breakdown gives margin on a 400 V DC bus or universal AC input.
With a ±20 V maximum gate rating, a standard 12 V or 15 V gate driver rail is fine. The gate threshold voltage maxes at 4.5 V at 140 µA, so a 5 V logic-level driver won't fully enhance the channel — the on-resistance climbs sharply below 10 V. Budget the gate drive supply accordingly.

Maximum power dissipation is rated 23 W at the case temperature. The 679 pF input capacitance at 400 V drain-source gives the driver a capacitive load to push each switching cycle; pair it with a gate resistor in the 10–22 Ω range to tune the turn-on slew rate.
Temperature range and junction rating
The 150°C Tj max gives a solid 25°C margin over a 125°C ambient in a sealed enclosure, provided the heatsink is sized to keep case temperature below 100°C at full load.
