PFC/Ballast Controller in PG-DSO-19-1
The ICB2FL01G is a PFC/Ballast Controller from Infineon Technologies, combining power factor correction and ballast drive in a single PG-DSO-19-1 package. It operates over a 20kHz to 120kHz switching frequency range, making it suited for electronic ballasts in fluorescent or HID lighting where the PFC stage and the half-bridge inverter share a common controller.
Runs from 10.6V to 17.5V supply with a typical quiescent draw of 4.2 mA — the supply current is low enough that the controller can be biased from the PFC boost inductor's auxiliary winding without a dedicated housekeeping supply, a common trick in two-stage ballast designs. Rated for -25°C to 125°C operating temperature, which covers the ambient inside a sealed luminaire housing where self-heating from the lamp and the electronics can push the board temperature well above 85°C.
