Low-skew clock fanout for 200 MHz trees
The CY29947AI is a low-skew clock fanout buffer from Cypress, designed to distribute one or two input clock signals to up to nine output loads with minimal skew between outputs. It accepts LVCMOS or LVTTL levels and reproduces them as LVCMOS/LVTTL outputs up to 200 MHz, making it a straightforward choice for clock trees in telecom line cards, industrial controllers, and FPGA-based systems where multiple clock domains share a single source.
Supply voltage — two operating ranges
The CY29947AI operates from a 2.375 V to 2.625 V supply or a 2.97 V to 3.63 V supply. Input and output levels must match the chosen supply rail — LVCMOS/LVTTL thresholds scale with VDD.
Temperature grade and environment
Rated for -40°C to 85°C, the CY29947AI is suited for industrial environments: outdoor telecom cabinets, factory-floor PLC racks, and base-station clock distribution where ambient temperatures stay below 85°C. The 32-TQFP package (7x7 mm) is a common footprint for surface-mount assembly, compatible with standard reflow profiles.
Lifecycle and sourcing
It is RoHS non-compliant, so verify your assembly's exemption allowance or check for a RoHS-compliant suffix variant if lead-free processing is required.
