3.1W mono Class D in a 1.92x1.94mm WLCSP
The SSM2529ACBZ-R7 is a mono Class D audio amplifier from Analog Devices delivering 3.1W continuous into a 4Ω load from a 2.5V to 5.5V supply rail. Housed in a 16-bump WLCSP measuring 1.92x1.94mm, it fits space-constrained portable designs where board area is the limiting factor.
Supply range and output power trade-offs
With a 2.5V minimum supply, the amplifier can run directly from a single lithium-ion cell near its end-of-discharge voltage; the 5.5V maximum allows use in 5V USB-powered systems without an external regulator. The 3.1W rating into 4Ω is the maximum output at the highest supply voltage — at lower supply rails the available power drops proportionally, so the actual loudspeaker SPL depends on the system's battery or rail voltage. Built-in depop circuitry suppresses the turn-on/turn-off pop that would otherwise couple into the speaker, and short-circuit and thermal protection prevent damage under fault conditions.
The 16-bump WLCSP (1.92x1.94mm) is a wafer-level chip-scale package with no plastic overmold — the die backside is exposed, so the solder-joint reliability depends on the PCB pad design and the underfill if used in high-vibration environments. Surface-mount assembly requires standard reflow profiles for lead-free solder; the package is compatible with tape-and-reel handling (supplied on 7-inch reels per the TR suffix).
