Quad general-purpose amplifier with wide supply and temperature range
The Analog Devices OP484FSZ-REEL7 is a quad (four-channel) general-purpose operational amplifier with rail-to-rail output capability, housed in a 14-SOIC surface-mount package. It combines a 4.25 MHz gain-bandwidth product and 4 V/µs slew rate with a supply span from 3 V to 36 V, making it suitable for single-supply and split-supply signal conditioning in industrial control, automotive, and instrumentation circuits.
Supply voltage and output swing — design flexibility
The 3 V minimum supply lets the part run from a single lithium cell or a 3.3 V rail, while the 36 V maximum allows operation on standard ±15 V or ±18 V industrial supplies. Rail-to-rail output swing preserves dynamic range at low supply voltages — at 3 V you get nearly the full 3 V swing into a 10 kΩ load, which matters when the ADC reference is also 3 V. Input common-mode range is not rail-to-rail; it extends to the negative rail and to within about 1.5 V of the positive rail, so high-side sensing at 3.3 V single supply needs a different topology.
Speed and drive — what the ratings mean
The 10 mA per-channel output current drives moderate loads (a few hundred ohms) directly; for heavier loads like a 50 Ω cable or a high-current actuator, add a buffer stage.
For new designs, it remains a supported, factory-current part. The ROHS3 compliance covers the EU RoHS exemption set, so it fits into current lead-free assembly flows without a waiver.
