Precision JFET front-end for high-impedance signals
The JFET input stage avoids the loading errors a bipolar op-amp would introduce when the signal source is in the megaohm range.
Slew rate and bandwidth — the speed boundary
With an 11 V/µs slew rate and a 5.7 kHz gain-bandwidth product, this op-amp is squarely in the precision, low-frequency domain. The slew rate determines the maximum output voltage swing without slew-induced distortion: at ±10 V output, the full-scale settling time is roughly 1.8 µs. That is fast enough for 10 kHz-class signal chains but will not drive a 100 kHz ADC input without significant distortion.
The supply span runs from 20 V minimum to 36 V maximum, which translates to ±10 V to ±18 V dual supplies or a single 20 V to 36 V rail. This maps directly to the ±15 V rails common in industrial instrumentation and bench test equipment.
No last-time-buy notice or end-of-life bulletin has been issued by Analog Devices. The PDIP-8 package is a mature, widely second-sourced footprint, so a future alternate-source qualification is straightforward if supply tightens.
Package and mounting — through-hole DIP
Housed in an 8-DIP (0.300", 7.62mm) package with a through-hole mounting type, this part is designed for socketed or wave-soldered PCB assembly. The 0.300" row spacing is the standard narrow DIP footprint, compatible with 8-pin DIP sockets from multiple manufacturers.
