Hermetic 8-CERDIP instrumentation amplifier for military and industrial signal chains
It is designed for through-hole mounting on boards that require a sealed, high-reliability package — typical for avionics, satellite, missile guidance, and downhole instrumentation where moisture and outgassing must be excluded. The supply span ranges from 6 V to 36 V. As an instrumentation amplifier, the OP05Z/883C is optimized for precision differential signal acquisition — bridge sensors, strain gauges, thermocouple interfaces, and medical instrumentation front-ends — where common-mode rejection and low drift matter more than raw bandwidth.
The 200 µV input offset voltage sets the DC accuracy floor. The 1 nA input bias current is low enough to drive high-impedance sources without significant voltage drop. This is adequate for DC and low-frequency sensor acquisition.
This is not a defect — it is the intended finish for high-reliability, leaded-solder assembly environments. If RoHS compliance is mandatory for the end product, a different package variant or a surface-mount alternative would be required.
