Protection set — depop, short-circuit, thermal shutdown
Depop circuitry suppresses the turn-on/turn-off pop that otherwise needs an external mute transistor or series relay. Short-circuit protection on the output and thermal shutdown cover the common failure modes in a portable product — a crushed speaker wire or a blocked vent. Shutdown pin lets a microcontroller put the amplifier into a near-zero quiescent state when audio is idle.
