Product details

80 ns dual comparator in an 8-SOIC footprint

The MAX942ESA+: The 80 ns max propagation delay sets the speed floor for the comparison path — at 5 V supply, the output toggles within 80 ns of the input crossing the reference, which keeps the loop latency predictable in overcurrent detection or zero-crossing sense circuits.

Supply range and output flexibility

The output stage is CMOS push-pull or TTL-compatible, so it drives a logic input directly without a pull-up resistor. Quiescent current maxes at 600 µA for both comparators — the pair draws less than a single op-amp in many signal chains, which matters for multi-channel boards where the comparator bank shares a supply rail. Common-mode and power-supply rejection are both 81.94 dB typical, so the trip point shifts less than 0.1 mV per volt of supply ripple.
