What this dual comparator brings to the board
The MAX9020EKA+T is a dual general-purpose comparator from Maxim Integrated's Beyond-the-Rails™ series. The open-drain output allows wired-OR connections and level translation to a higher-voltage pull-up. Built-in 4 mV hysteresis cleans up the switching threshold. The 2 µA max quiescent current is for the entire dual comparator block.
At 2 µA max quiescent for both comparators, this part fits into always-on sense circuits.
The SOT-23-8 package (supplier device package SOT-23-8) is a common footprint for dual op-amps and comparators. It's a surface-mount part, so it goes through standard reflow. No special handling needed beyond standard ESD precautions.
No end-of-life notice on record. The 80 dB typical PSRR means the comparator's threshold stays stable even when the supply rail has ripple from a switching regulator.
