Product details

300 mA LDO for power-sensitive rails

The MAX8860EUA30 is a 300 mA positive-output linear regulator from Analog Devices, offered in both adjustable (down to 1.25 V) and fixed 3 V output versions. It is designed for low-dropout applications where the input rail sits close to the output voltage. Maximum dropout voltage is 0.155 V at the full 300 mA load — the headroom between input and output must stay above this figure across temperature and load to keep the output in regulation. The 270 µA quiescent current makes it suitable for battery-operated equipment where the regulator's own draw matters during active operation.

Protection and control features

On-chip protection includes over-temperature shutdown, reverse polarity protection, and short-circuit current limiting — these cover the common fault conditions on a power rail without external clamp diodes or foldback circuits. An enable pin allows the regulator to be gated by a logic-level signal, and a fault output flags when the output falls out of regulation (e.g. under overcurrent or thermal shutdown). Input voltage range extends to 6.5 V maximum, and the output can be set up to that same ceiling in the adjustable configuration.

Supplied in an 8-TSSOP or 8-MSOP package (3.00 mm body width), the part mounts on standard surface-mount pads with a 0.65 mm pitch. The supplier device package is designated 8-uMAX/uSOP. The bulk packaging option means parts ship in tubes or bags rather than tape-and-reel — factor this into pick-and-place feeder setup if the line expects reeled components.

Lifecycle and compliance

RoHS compliance status is listed as non-compliant. Verify the regulatory requirements for your target market; if RoHS exemption is needed, confirm the date code and any applicable exemption clauses with the supplier at quote time.
