Reset supervisor for 5V rails — 140 ms timeout, 4.4 V threshold
The Maxim Integrated MAX818MCUA is a single-channel simple reset/power-on reset supervisor that asserts an active-low, open-drain reset output when the monitored voltage drops below 4.4 V. It holds reset for a minimum of 140 ms after the supply returns above threshold, giving the system clock and regulator time to stabilise before the processor starts. The open-drain output lets you wire-OR the reset signal with other supervisors or pull it up to a different voltage rail, which is common in mixed-voltage designs.
Active production — no LTB risk for ongoing builds
The MAX818MCUA carries an active lifecycle status, meaning Maxim is still manufacturing it and there is no last-time-buy window to track. For a procurement planner, this removes the urgency to stockpile or qualify a substitute. The part is RoHS non-compliant, so verify your assembly house can accept lead-bearing solder — if your line has moved to full RoHS, you will need the lead-free variant.
