Supervisor with battery-switchover — what the threshold means for your BOM
The MAX807LCWE+T is a battery-backup supervisor from Maxim Integrated that monitors a single 5V rail and automatically switches to a backup battery when the primary supply drops below the 4.675V threshold. The 140ms minimum reset timeout gives the supply time to recover before the processor comes out of reset, preventing brownout-induced corruption of SRAM or RTC contents. The dual reset outputs — both active-high and active-low — let you drive both the processor reset pin and a power-fail interrupt without extra inverters.
Package and temperature — board-fit and environment
The wide SOIC footprint is common for supervisor ICs and shares a land pattern with many other 16-pin battery-backup supervisors, making it a straightforward drop-in for board revisions.
