Input range and output flexibility
The wide 4.5 V to 30 V input range covers common industrial and telecom buses — 5 V, 12 V, 24 V, and 28 V — without an external pre-regulator. For designs that see ambient above 70°C, the MAX796CPE is not the fit — look at the industrial-temperature variant in the same family.
Package and board integration
Housed in a 16-pin DIP (0.300" body width, 7.62 mm), through-hole mounting. The 16-PDIP supplier package mates with standard DIP sockets or solders directly into plated through-holes. Bulk packaging — no reel or tape, so plan for hand-placement or tube-fed insertion.
