RoHS non-compliance — plan accordingly
This part is marked RoHS non-compliant. That means it contains lead (Pb) in the solder finish or in the die attach, and cannot be used in products destined for EU RoHS-regulated markets unless a specific exemption applies. For military, aerospace, or other high-reliability builds that still use leaded solder, this is not a problem — in fact, it's preferred. For commercial or consumer gear bound for Europe, you'll need an RoHS-compliant alternate. The MAX699EWE is still listed as Active in production, so there is no imminent last-time-buy pressure.
Sourcing and availability
The MAX699EWE is an active Maxim Integrated part, but it's RoHS non-compliant, so mainstream distributors may not stock it in volume. We source it through independent distribution and can quote it to order against an RFQ.
