Device identity and threshold fit
The MAX6861UK16: The push-pull output holds the reset state until the supply recovers and the adjustable timeout expires — no external pull-up resistor needed on the RST line. The 1.575V threshold targets 1.8V or 1.5V core rails — a 1.8V supply dipping below 1.575V during brownout or startup triggers the reset before the logic loses its state. For a 1.5V rail the threshold sits above the nominal, so the supervisor asserts reset earlier than a 1.5V-specific part would.
Housed in a 5-lead SOT-23 (SC-74A), the MAX6861UK16 occupies roughly 3mm x 3mm on the board. The SOT-23-5 footprint is a standard 0.95mm pitch layout — the same land pattern serves many supervisor ICs, so a board spin for a second-source candidate is unlikely. The adjustable reset timeout is set by an external capacitor between the CT pin and ground — no resistor divider needed. This lets the designer stretch the reset pulse to match the power-good timing of a downstream regulator or the startup sequence of an FPGA core rail.
