1.575V threshold supervisor — SC-70-3 footprint
The MAX6833VXRD3 is a single-channel simple reset/power-on reset supervisor from Analog Devices, monitoring a single voltage rail with a 1.575V threshold. The 140ms minimum reset timeout gives the downstream rail time to stabilize before the processor comes out of reset — critical for avoiding brown-out boot failures in embedded systems.
Active-high push-pull output — no external pull-up needed
The reset output is active high with a push-pull, totem-pole stage. Unlike an open-drain output, the push-pull stage sources current directly — no external pull-up resistor required on the reset line. This saves one component per supervisor and simplifies the PCB layout for the SC-70-3 footprint. The 1.575V threshold is suited for monitoring a 1.8V rail — the nominal supply is above the threshold, and the supervisor asserts reset when the rail dips below 1.575V. The single-voltage monitoring channel covers one rail per device; multiple supervisors are needed for multi-rail systems.
The SC-70-3 package keeps the board footprint under 2 mm², fitting into tight mixed-signal layouts. For RoHS-mandated designs, a lead-free alternative from the same family should be evaluated.
