What this supervisor does and where it fits
The Maxim Integrated MAX6760TALAD3 is a multi-voltage supervisor designed to monitor two independent supply rails in automotive and industrial systems. It asserts a reset output when either monitored voltage falls outside the configured threshold window, with a minimum 100 ms reset timeout to allow the system to stabilize before re-enabling the processor. AEC-Q100 qualification and an operating temperature range of -40°C to 125°C make it suitable for under-hood and engine-bay environments where thermal cycling and vibration are routine. The part monitors one fixed 5 V rail and one adjustable-threshold input, giving the designer flexibility to track a secondary supply with external resistor dividers.
Output options and reset logic
The reset output is active low and configurable as either open-drain or push-pull. Open-drain allows wired-OR connection with other supervisors or a shared reset line; push-pull eliminates the need for an external pull-up resistor on the reset bus. The 100 ms minimum reset timeout is long enough to cover most MCU power-on reset requirements without external timing components.
Package and mounting for production
tube — not tape-and-reel — so plan for manual or tube-fed pick-and-place if using automated assembly.
Lifecycle and sourcing posture
That means no last-time-buy risk for ongoing builds, and it remains qualified for new design-ins. RoHS non-compliant — verify your assembly house's exemption policy for lead-bearing devices if your BOM requires full RoHS compliance.
