What the MAX6749KA is and where it fits
The Maxim Integrated MAX6749KA is a simple reset/power-on reset supervisor IC that monitors a single supply rail and asserts a reset signal when the voltage falls below a threshold. Its active-low, open-drain output lets it interface directly with microcontroller reset inputs or other logic without level-shifting. The adjustable/selectable threshold gives flexibility to set the trip point for different supply voltages. With an operating temperature range of -40°C to 125°C, it is suited for industrial and automotive environments where the board sees wide thermal swings — engine bays, outdoor telecom cabinets, or factory-floor controllers.
Package and mounting
Housed in a SOT-23-8 surface-mount package, the MAX6749KA fits on compact PCBs where board area is tight. The supplier device package is also SOT-23-8, so footprint and land pattern are standard. Surface-mount assembly is typical for reflow soldering; no special handling beyond normal SMD practice.
Lifecycle and sourcing
That means it remains available for new designs and production builds without last-time-buy risk. Note that the part is RoHS non-compliant, so verify your assembly's RoHS exemption requirements before specifying it for lead-free processes.
