Dual-rail monitoring in a five-pin SC-70
The MAX6736XKSHD3 is a 2-channel multi-voltage supervisor from Analog Devices that monitors two independent supply rails with thresholds at 1.313V and 2.925V. When either monitored voltage drops below its threshold, the active-low reset output (open-drain or open-collector) asserts and holds for a minimum of 150 ms after all rails return above threshold — long enough for the downstream processor's oscillator and PLL to stabilise before code execution starts. The SC-70-5 package (also listed as 5-TSSOP or SOT-353) occupies roughly 2.0 × 2.1 mm on the board, making it a fit for space-constrained designs where a separate supervisor for each rail would consume too much area.
Threshold selection and temperature range
The 1.313V threshold suits a 1.2V or 1.35V core rail; the 2.925V threshold covers a 3.0V or 3.3V I/O supply — the supervisor catches undervoltage before the logic levels degrade into undefined states.
Note the RoHS compliance status: this variant is marked RoHS non-compliant, so it targets legacy BOMs that require tin-lead solder processes or have an exemption for lead in electronic components.
