Two-rail supervisor in a 5-pin SOT-23
The MAX6717UKSHD3 is a 2-channel multi-voltage supervisor from Maxim Integrated, monitoring two independent supply rails with thresholds of 1.313 V and 2.925 V. It asserts a reset output (active-low, open-drain) for a minimum of 140 ms when either monitored voltage drops below its threshold, then releases after the timeout once both rails are back in tolerance.
Thresholds and reset behaviour
The 140 ms minimum reset timeout is long enough to let the downstream power supplies stabilise after a fault clears, without holding the system in reset longer than necessary for most microcontroller boot sequences. The open-drain output allows the reset line to be wire-ORed with other supervisors or a manual reset button, sharing a common pull-up resistor to the I/O supply rail.
The SOT-23-5 (SC-74A) package has a 0.95 mm pitch and a body size of roughly 2.9 mm × 1.6 mm — the same footprint as a standard SOT-23-5, so it drops onto existing layouts without a board spin. Pin 1 is marked by a dot or chamfer on the package top; the open-drain output is on pin 1, ground on pin 2, the two threshold inputs on pins 3 and 4, and supply on pin 5. The part is RoHS non-compliant, so it contains lead — verify your assembly's exemption status if you are shipping into RoHS-restricted markets.
