What the MAX6712REXS does and where it fits
Housed in a 4-pin SC-70-4 (SOT-343) surface-mount package, it operates across the full -40°C to 125°C temperature range.
Key ratings and what they mean for the BOM
The 140ms minimum reset timeout is a deliberate hold-off period. It prevents the processor from starting until the supply has been stable for over a tenth of a second, which covers most power-supply ramp-up transients and oscillator start-up delays. If your system needs a shorter or longer delay, this part is fixed — no external capacitor adjustment. Push-pull output means the reset pin drives high and low actively. No external pull-up resistor is needed, saving one component per supervisor channel. The output is active-low, so it connects directly to the /RESET pin of most MCUs and FPGAs.
Lifecycle and compliance note
The MAX6712REXS carries an active lifecycle status. One important flag: this part is RoHS non-compliant. If your BOM requires RoHS conformance for EU markets or a corporate environmental policy, you will need either an exemption waiver or a lead-free alternative. Verify your assembly house's acceptance of non-RoHS material before committing the line.
