Remote temperature sensing via SPI
The MAX6627MTA+T is a digital remote temperature sensor from Analog Devices that reads the junction temperature of an external diode-connected transistor — typically a 2N3904 or a substrate PNP on an ASIC or FPGA — and reports it over a standard SPI interface with 12-bit resolution. The remote sensing range spans -55°C to +145°C, while the local ambient operating range for the sensor itself is -55°C to +125°C, covering the full industrial and extended temperature envelope.
Accuracy and supply considerations
Accuracy is specified as ±1°C typical across the 0°C to +125°C remote diode temperature range, widening to ±5.5°C maximum over the full -55°C to +145°C remote range — the tighter spec applies in the band where most system thermal management decisions are made.
Fully RoHS 3 compliant, the part meets the latest EU directive requirements for lead-free soldering processes.
