What this supervisor does on the board
The Maxim Integrated MAX6385XS16D2 is a single-channel voltage supervisor that holds the reset line active-high for a minimum of 20ms after the monitored supply crosses above the 1.58V threshold. The push-pull, totem-pole output drives the reset input directly without an external pull-up resistor. It monitors one voltage rail and asserts reset when the supply drops below 1.58V, then releases after the timeout once the rail recovers.
Package and mounting — fits the small-board constraint
Housed in a SC-70-4 surface-mount package, this part suits dense, low-profile PCB layouts where board area is tight. The four-pin footprint is common across many Maxim supervisor variants, so a layout designed for one threshold voltage can often accommodate another with a BOM change.
Temperature grade and environment
Rated for -40°C to 125°C ambient, this supervisor works across industrial enclosures, outdoor telecom cabinets, and under-hood automotive electronics. The wide temperature range means no derating concern for most production environments, though the RoHS non-compliant status may affect EU-market builds that require full RoHS conformance.
