560ms reset timeout — what it buys you
The 560ms minimum reset timeout gives the downstream microcontroller, FPGA, or ASIC enough time to stabilize its internal oscillators and power rails before the reset line releases. In a motor-drive or battery-charger application where the supply can ramp slowly, that 560ms window prevents spurious startup sequences. If your system needs a shorter or longer delay, this fixed timeout is a selection gate — no external capacitor to trim it.
Temperature range and environment
Rated for -40°C to 125°C ambient, this supervisor handles the thermal extremes of an engine bay, outdoor telecom cabinet, or factory floor. The SC-70-3 package is small enough to fit near the monitored rail on a densely populated PCB, but its low thermal mass means the die tracks ambient quickly — no significant self-heating to worry about at the microamp-level supply current typical of these parts.
RoHS note for compliance tracking
The MAX6382XR24D6 is listed as RoHS non-compliant. If your BOM requires RoHS exemption documentation or a fully compliant part, factor that into the sourcing decision. For legacy designs or military/aerospace programs where leaded solder is still permitted, this is not a blocker.
