What this watchdog circuit does and where it fits
It monitors system activity and asserts a reset output when the watchdog input is not toggled within the programmed timeout window. The reset output is active low, push-pull/totem pole, so it drives directly into the reset pin of most MCUs, DSPs, or SoCs without an external pull-up resistor. The timeout period and voltage threshold are both adjustable or selectable via external components or pin strapping, giving the designer control over the monitoring window without changing the board layout.
