Watchdog supervisor with adjustable timing
The MAX6371KA is a pin-selectable watchdog circuit from Analog Devices, designed to monitor a single voltage rail and assert a reset if the system fails to strobe the watchdog input within the programmed timeout window. The reset output is active-low, open-drain, allowing it to be wire-ORed with other supervisor outputs on the same reset line.
Parametric flexibility for system integration
Both the reset timeout period and the voltage threshold are adjustable/selectable via external pin strapping, giving the designer control over the watchdog window and the trip point without changing the IC. Housed in an 8-pin SOT-23 surface-mount package (supplier device package SOT-23-8), it occupies minimal board area and is compatible with standard reflow soldering profiles.
Note that this part is marked RoHS non-compliant, which may affect its eligibility for certain regulatory markets or lead-free assembly lines.
