Precision reference for ADC and DAC rails
The MAX6226ALA25+ is a 2.5 V fixed-output series voltage reference from Analog Devices, with a ±0.02% initial tolerance and a 5 ppm/°C temperature coefficient. For a 16-bit ADC sampling at 100 kSPS, the reference drift over a 10 °C swing contributes less than 0.1 LSB of error — the noise floor is the tighter limit. The 10 mA output current can supply the reference input of multiple ADCs or DACs on the same rail without a buffer.
Package and board-fit for precision layouts
Housed in an 8-CLCC (3.8 mm × 3.8 mm) ceramic package, the MAX6226ALA25+ offers a low-thermal-coefficient substrate that matches the die's expansion — critical for maintaining the 5 ppm/°C drift spec across temperature. Quiescent current is 550 µA typical, making it suitable for battery-powered instrumentation where the reference stays on continuously.
