Active production — no obsolescence risk
The MAX5903LBETT+: RoHS3 compliant per the manufacturer's designation, which satisfies the European material-restriction directive for lead-free soldering processes.
Wide input range with integrated protection
Operates from 9 V to 72 V supply, covering the common telecom and industrial backplane rails — a 48 V nominal system with transients up to 72 V stays within the safe operating area without external clamps. Internal switches on both the high-side and low-side paths allow the controller to break the circuit on fault without relying on an external MOSFET — the 1 mA supply current is the controller's own draw, not the load current. Programmable circuit-breaker threshold, current limit, latched fault, thermal limit, and UVLO are all integrated — the latched fault holds the output off after a trip until the input is cycled, which prevents nuisance auto-retry into a persistent short.
Industrial temperature range and networking focus
Explicitly targeted at networking applications per the manufacturer's classification — the wide input range and latched fault behaviour align with the hot-swap requirements of line cards and redundant power feeds in Ethernet switches and routers.
6-TDFN-EP package — thermal and board-fit
Surface-mount assembly with a single channel in a compact package — the 6-TDFN-EP suits space-constrained line-card layouts where a separate hot-swap controller and external MOSFET would consume more board area.
