Product details

5V fixed-output LDO with 28V input ceiling

The MAX5091AATA+T is a single-output linear regulator from Analog Devices delivering a fixed 5V rail at up to 100mA continuous current. The 28V maximum input voltage lets it regulate from a 12V or 24V nominal bus — common in automotive and industrial control panels — without a pre-regulator. Maximum dropout is 0.5V at full load, so the input rail needs only 5.5V minimum to maintain regulation; a 12V battery dipped to 6V during cranking still holds the output steady.

Quiescent current and protection set

Quiescent current is 100 µA typical, rising to 10 mA maximum supply current under full load — the low idle draw suits always-on modules in an ECU or sensor node that stay powered during key-off. On-chip protection covers over-current, over-temperature, and short-circuit events; the Enable and Reset control pins allow the system supervisor to sequence the rail and monitor its health.
