Quad op-amp with 100 MHz GBP and 90 V/µs slew rate — through-hole DIP
The Maxim MAX448ACPD-2 is a quad general-purpose operational amplifier packing four independent circuits in a single 14-pin DIP package (14-DIP, 0.300" body, 7.62 mm pitch, also supplied as 14-PDIP). Each amplifier delivers a 100 MHz gain-bandwidth product and a 90 V/µs slew rate, making it suitable for high-speed signal conditioning, video distribution, active filters, and fast ADC driver stages where four channels share a common supply rail. Input bias current is 650 nA typical, and input offset voltage is 3 mV maximum.
Through-hole package — rework and layout notes
The 14-DIP (0.300" row spacing) is a through-hole package, so it inserts into a plated-through-hole socket or solders directly into the board. No hot-air rework needed — a standard soldering iron lifts the part cleanly. The through-hole format is forgiving for prototyping and one-off builds, but it takes more board area than a surface-mount SOIC or TSSOP alternative. If your assembly line is SMT-only, this part requires a separate wave-solder or hand-solder step.
Active lifecycle — RoHS non-compliant
Note that the part is listed as RoHS non-compliant — it contains lead in the solder-dipped leads typical of legacy DIP packages. For RoHS-required builds, verify your exemption or consider a lead-free alternative if one exists in the same family.
Sourcing and availability
Because the part is Active and not subject to an EOL notice, supply should be stable for ongoing production runs. For dual-sourcing or a pin-compatible second source, check the MAX448 family for other speed/temperature variants — the 14-DIP pinout is consistent across the series.
