The MAX4429ESA+ is a single-channel, low-side gate driver for N-channel and P-channel MOSFETs.
The 6A peak source and sink capability charges and discharges the MOSFET gate capacitance quickly. The 25ns rise and fall times are symmetric, simplifying timing calculations.
For BOM planning, there is no single-source risk from obsolescence today.
The MAX4429ESA+ has an inverting input, while the MAX4428ESA+ has a non-inverting input. Both are single low-side drivers with 6A peak output, 25ns rise/fall, and the same 8-SOIC package. The choice depends on your PWM polarity: if your controller outputs an active-high gate signal, use the non-inverting MAX4428; if it outputs an active-low signal, use the inverting MAX4429.
The MAX4429ESA+ is specified to drive both N-channel and P-channel MOSFETs in a low-side configuration.
