Low-power, rail-to-rail op-amp for battery and sensor interfaces
The MAX4162ESA+T is a single general-purpose op-amp with a 200 kHz gain-bandwidth product and a 0.115 V/µs slew rate — suited for low-frequency signal conditioning where power is the tighter constraint than speed. It draws only 25 µA supply current per channel, making it a fit for always-on sensor amplifiers, battery monitors, or portable instrumentation where every microamp extends run time. Rail-to-rail output swing at a 2.7 V minimum supply lets the amplifier use the full ADC input range without headroom loss, critical in single-supply 3.3 V or 5 V systems.
At 0.115 V/µs, the MAX4162ESA+T's slew rate limits full-power bandwidth to roughly 18 kHz for a 1 V peak output swing — above that, the output distorts into a triangle wave. This is a DC-precision or low-frequency AC part, not a video or high-speed data line driver. The 200 kHz GBP means that at a closed-loop gain of 10, the -3 dB bandwidth drops to 20 kHz. For unity-gain buffers, expect the full 200 kHz. Plan the filter poles and feedback network accordingly.
Operates from 2.7 V to 10 V single supply, covering common 3.3 V and 5 V rails without a negative supply.
Active lifecycle — sourcing posture for production
The 8-SOIC package is a standard footprint with broad second-source availability from other vendors if needed.
