Quad SPST-NO switch with 45 ohm on-resistance
The MAX4066ACSD+T from Analog Devices (formerly Maxim Integrated) is a quad single-pole single-throw normally-open analog switch in a 14-SOIC package. Each of the four independent switches connects a common rail to a normally-open output when the corresponding control pin is driven high. The 45 ohm maximum on-resistance is flat across the signal range, and channel-to-channel matching holds to 500 mOhm — important for maintaining gain accuracy in multiplexed analog front-ends. Not rated for automotive or extended industrial environments.
Switching speed and signal integrity
Turn-on time is 100 ns maximum, turn-off is 75 ns maximum. That is fast enough for audio muting, relay replacement, and low-frequency analog muxing, but not for video crosspoint or high-speed data switching. The off-leakage current is just 100 pA maximum, so the switch does not load the signal path when disabled. Channel capacitance (both source and drain) is 9 pF each, which contributes to the bandwidth figure and also sets the settling time in a sample-and-hold application. The 1:1 multiplexer/demultiplexer circuit means each switch is a simple pass gate — no internal address decoding.
