Product details

RS485/RS422 transceiver for industrial bus interfaces

The MAX3441EASA+ is a single-channel half-duplex transceiver supporting both RS-422 and RS-485 protocols, designed for balanced data transmission over twisted-pair cables in electrically noisy environments. Rated for 10 Mbps data rate, it suits high-speed industrial automation links, instrumentation backplanes, and building-control networks where the bus must sustain throughput above the typical 250 kbps to 1 Mbps range of slower RS-485 parts.

Receiver noise margin and driver/receiver count

25 mV of receiver hysteresis provides built-in noise rejection on the differential bus — in a factory-floor environment with motor-start transients coupling into the cable, that hysteresis prevents the receiver from toggling on spurious edges shorter than the cable's propagation delay. With one driver and one receiver (1/1), the part is configured for a single bus node in a multidrop or point-to-point topology. For applications needing more nodes, the driver output impedance and fail-safe biasing follow standard RS-485 loading rules.

Package and mounting for PCB integration

This is a common footprint shared by many Analog Devices interface ICs, so a single PCB layout can accommodate multiple transceiver options. Shipped in tube packaging, which is the standard for low-to-medium volume assembly. The part is RoHS3 compliant.
