Rated at 16 Mbps, this translator handles SPI, I2C, and UART rates. The open-drain output type means the rise time depends on the pull-up resistor value and bus capacitance.
Housed in a 14-TSSOP (4.40 mm body width, 0.173" pitch), the MAX3378EEUD+ uses a standard, widely available footprint. The supplier device package is also 14-TSSOP, so no confusion on alternate package codes. Surface-mount only — no through-hole variant exists. The tube shipping medium is fine for prototype builds; for production reflow, order the tape-and-reel variant (MAX3378EEUD+T).
