1.25 Gbps laser diode driver with exposed-pad thermal management
The MAX3287CUE is a single-channel laser diode driver from Analog Devices, designed for fiber-optic transmitter modules operating up to 1.25 Gbps. The 30 mA modulation current drives the laser diode directly; the 52 mA supply current includes the bias and modulation stages, so the total power dissipation in the 16-TSSOP exposed-pad package determines the board-level thermal budget.
Active production, RoHS non-compliant — what that means for the BOM
For new designs that require RoHS compliance, a lead-free variant from the same functional family should be evaluated.
Package footprint and board integration
Without this, the junction temperature rises above the 70 °C ceiling in a confined optical module. Surface-mount assembly with standard reflow profiles for TSSOP-EP applies.
