RS232 transceiver with 250 kbps data rate
The MAX221CUE+ is a single-channel RS232 transceiver from Analog Devices, supporting full-duplex communication with one driver and one receiver on the same IC. The 250 kbps data rate covers the standard RS232 band for point-to-point serial links — enough for legacy terminal interfaces, industrial machine control, or configuration ports on embedded equipment. The receiver hysteresis of 500 mV cleans up noisy lines — a 500 mV dead band between the switching thresholds rejects glitches that a bare TTL input would pass through as a data edge.
The surface-mount profile is compatible with reflow soldering; the 0.65 mm pitch means a standard 4-layer board can fan out all pins without via-in-pad.
