RS-232 transceiver for multi-port serial links
The MAX211CAI+T is an RS-232 transceiver from Analog Devices (formerly Maxim Integrated) that handles full-duplex serial communication at 120 kbps. It packs four drivers and five receivers into a 28-pin SSOP package, making it a fit for multi-port RS-232 interfaces on a single IC. Supply range is 4.5V to 5.5V — a single 5V rail covers it. The 500 mV receiver hysteresis cleans up noisy lines from long cable runs or mixed-signal boards. That keeps it in indoor equipment, office peripherals, test gear, and telecom line cards — not motor drives or outdoor enclosures.
