Product details

Quad-channel current-limit switch for automotive camera modules

The MAX20089ATPA/VY+ is a quad-channel current switch from Analog Devices, purpose-built as a camera protector for automotive vision systems. Each of the four independent channels delivers up to 600 mA, with the input accepting a 3V to 15V rail — covering the full automotive battery range from cold-crank to load-dump recovery. The ±8% current-limit accuracy means the designer budgets the full tolerance band when sizing the load, not a tighter typical value.

Wettable-flank package for automated optical inspection

Housed in a 20-WFQFN Exposed Pad (4x4 mm body, 20-TQFN-EP supplier package), the part features a wettable flank — the side of the QFN terminals are plated so that solder fillet formation is visible to AOI systems. This eliminates the need for X-ray inspection on the hidden QFN terminations and is standard for automotive PPAP builds. The exposed pad on the underside must be soldered to a thermal land on the PCB; the pad carries the heat from the four output switches. Supplied in Tray format, the part is compatible with standard pick-and-place handling.

No pin-compatible second-source or successor is listed, so the BOM position is single-sourced to this Analog Devices order code.

Frequently asked questions

What does the ±8% accuracy mean for my current-limit setpoint?

The ±8% figure is the total tolerance on the current-limit threshold across temperature and process. If the design requires a guaranteed minimum of 500 mA per channel, the nominal limit must be set at 543 mA or higher to stay above 500 mA after the -8% worst-case shift. The 600 mA rated output is the maximum continuous current per channel, not the factory-programmed limit.

What compliance documentation does Analog Devices provide for this part?

The MAX20089ATPA/VY+ is ROHS3 compliant.
