Boost/buck-boost controller for non-isolated rails
The MAX1771CSA+T is a current-mode PWM controller that supports boost and buck-boost topologies from a single 3V to 16.5V supply rail — a fit for generating 5V, 12V, or adjustable outputs from a battery or regulated bus. Switching at a fixed 300 kHz, the controller drives an external N-channel MOSFET and sets the inductor value and output filter corner — no external clock sync, so the switching noise spectrum is predictable. The 92% maximum duty cycle limits the achievable step-up ratio in boost mode; for a 3V input, the theoretical output ceiling is about 37.5V before the duty cycle saturates.
RoHS3 compliant (2015/863/EU), with no exemptions that would restrict EU or UKCA market access.
