What this buck regulator brings to the rail
The MAX17243ETPA+ is a step-down (buck) switching regulator from Analog Devices that takes a 3.5V to 36V input rail and delivers a regulated adjustable output from 1V up to 10V at 3A. It integrates a synchronous rectifier, which means the low-side MOSFET is on-die rather than external — that saves a diode and improves efficiency, especially at lower output voltages where the freewheeling diode drop would otherwise dominate losses. Typical applications include point-of-load regulation in industrial control, telecom infrastructure, battery-powered equipment, and distributed power architectures where a wide input range and compact footprint matter.
The 3.5V minimum input allows operation from a 5V rail or a single-cell Li-ion battery. The 36V maximum input covers 24V industrial supplies with margin.
