The Maxim MAX16907SAUE+ is a step-down (buck) switching regulator with a single adjustable output that can also be fixed at 1V or 5V. It accepts an input range from 3.5V to 36V and delivers up to 3A of continuous output current.
The part is not synchronous-rectified (no internal low-side FET), so the Schottky diode you add for the catch diode also contributes to the thermal budget. Keep the diode close to the switch node and use a low-VF Schottky rated for at least the input voltage.
It comes in a 16-TSSOP (0.173", 4.40mm Width) exposed-pad package, also referred to as 16-TSSOP-EP.
