What the 2A/4A drive strength means for your switching stage
The MAX15025AATB+T is a low-side gate driver built for N-channel MOSFETs in automotive and industrial power stages. Its 2A source / 4A sink peak output current directly determines how fast the MOSFET gate charges and discharges — the 4A sink edge pulls the gate down hard, reducing the Miller plateau dwell time and cutting switching losses in hard-switched topologies like boost converters, flyback supplies, and solenoid drivers. The 42 ns rise and 30 ns fall times are typical at the rated load — these edges keep cross-conduction current low during the transition window, which matters when the driver is paired with a high-current MOSFET in a 150°C ambient environment.
Supply range and logic compatibility — fits 12V and 24V rails
The 4.5V to 28V supply range covers the full automotive battery envelope: cold-crank dips to 4.5V, nominal 12V/24V, and load-dump transients up to 28V without an external clamp.
