What drives a 3.5-digit LCD panel
The MAX1491CAI+ is a 3.5-digit A/D converter with a built-in LCD driver, configured for 7 segment plus 2 annunciator outputs. It takes an analog input and drives a standard LCD panel directly, no separate display controller needed. Supply current is 980 µA across the 2.7V to 5.25V range, so it fits battery-powered or loop-powered instruments where every microamp counts.
Housed in a 28-SSOP (0.209", 5.30mm width) surface-mount package, supplied in Tube. The 0.65 mm pitch demands a standard SSOP footprint — no fine-pitch rework required.
