Two-channel isolator with 200 Mbps throughput and 5 kVrms barrier
The Maxim Integrated MAX12935BAWE+ is a two-channel, unidirectional digital isolator built on capacitive coupling technology. It pushes 200 Mbps per channel with a typical rise/fall time of 1.6 ns / 1.4 ns, so it handles high-speed SPI, UART, or parallel buses without eating into your timing margin. The 5000Vrms isolation rating qualifies it for reinforced insulation in medical, industrial, and motor-drive systems where safety isolation is mandatory. Common-mode transient immunity (CMTI) is rated at 50 kV/µs minimum. That matters when the isolator sits across a motor-drive or inverter ground plane where fast switching edges try to punch through the barrier. The part laughs off that noise and keeps the data clean.
Temperature range and package — field-ready footprint
Operating temperature covers -40°C to 125°C, so this isolator is comfortable in outdoor telecom cabinets, factory-floor motor drives, and under-hood automotive electronics. The 16-SOIC wide-body package (0.295-inch body width, 7.50 mm) gives you the creepage distance needed to maintain the 5000Vrms rating across the board.
