Integrated features cut external BOM
Depop, mute, short-circuit and thermal protection, shutdown, and volume control are all on-chip. That means no external muting FETs, no separate protection supervisor, and no volume pot — the I²C volume control handles level setting from the system processor. The 44-TQFN (7x7 mm) exposed pad package keeps the board footprint tight; the pad must be soldered to a thermal land on the PCB for heat sinking.
Industrial temperature range and active lifecycle
Rated for -40°C to 85°C ambient, the MAX9744ETH+ can be used in outdoor audio equipment, automotive cabin systems, or industrial sounders without derating for temperature. Production status is active and ROHS3 compliant, so it remains a viable choice for new designs and production BOMs. No LTB or NRND notices are in effect.
