Input configuration and reference — two decisions that matter
The input type can be set as differential (one channel) or single-ended (two channels). Differential mode rejects common-mode noise on long sensor leads — useful for thermocouple or bridge-type measurements where the signal is small and the environment is electrically noisy. Single-ended mode doubles the channel count for monitoring multiple DC voltages (supply rails, potentiometer wipers, panel-mount sensors) without adding an external mux.
