Fast fault isolation — 250 ns on, 200 ns off
250 ns turn-on delay and 200 ns turn-off delay.
No internal switch — external N-channel FET required
This part has no internal switch — the designer must add an external N-channel MOSFET. That is typical for N+1 controllers in this class: the external FET lets the designer scale the ORing path for the actual load current, from a few amps in a line card to tens of amps in a power shelf. The controller handles the gate drive and fault detection; the FET handles the current. If you need a self-contained ORing solution with the FET inside, this is not that part.
For a telecom cabinet on a rooftop or an outdoor base station, the industrial-temperature sibling LTC4352IMS#PBF (-40°C to 85°C) is the correct choice. The commercial-grade CDD part is fine for a rack-mount power shelf in a climate-controlled facility.
